Apprentice Success Story

Here at Profile we are always excited when one of our apprentices’ gets special mention within an organisation because of the work they are doing and the amazing contribution they are bringing to an organisation.

One of our new employers, Communicate plc, has released a news article highlighting the benefit that their new apprentice, Joshua’s had upon the business.  You can access the article here, but “since joining the team, Joshua has helped clients across the site” and Mark Styles who is the Communicate plc network infrastructure manager and Joshua’s line manager has said:

“Apprenticeships are a great way of developing your people. Having someone join the team that you can train on the job whilst completing their academic studies and qualifications is invaluable, especially in our industry.”

If you are interested in becoming an apprentice please click here to view our vacancies or if you are an employer seeking an apprentice, then please give us a call on 01843 609300 or email enquiries@profiledt.co.uk and ask for Ian Pearce who is the Business Development and Project Manager here at Profile Development and Training and find out how much an apprentice can strengthen your organisation.

Purple Tuesday

At Profile Development and Training we pride ourselves on being an inclusive workplace and making ourselves available for the needs required of all individuals no matter what their requirements.  We want to make sure that we support all learners no matter what their requirements are.

In a previous post we spoke about the fact that we are a “Disability Confident Employer”.

We are also very proud to support the Purple Tuesday organisation which is “an international call to action, focused on changing the customer experience for disabled people.”  Although geared towards to the customer services sector, we want to bring this into a sector required for the development of skills and personal development for disabled people.

We are constantly looking how to make our learner journey more accessible for all our learners, where that be through:

  • Online Learning (so there is no need to leave your computer in order to complete our level 2 courses)
  • We are working on the introduction of electronic paperwork (so those that struggle with writing can do this on their phone, tablet or pc)
  • We work with national and local organisations so we can help provide additional funding and support for our apprenticeships.

We are happy with what we have managed so far, but we know that there is always more that we can do and that is why we are always looking to see what else we can do to aid the learner through whichever course we offer them.

Apprenticeship Graduation 2019

National Teaching Assistants’ Day

Today, Monday 16th September 2019 is National Teaching Assistants’ Day!

Teaching Assistants’ provide an increasingly vital important resource within the classroom.  The National Teaching Assistants’ Day was created to recognise this contribution that Teaching Assistants’ make to the education and support of school children across the UK.

Here are some statistics about:

96% of Headteachers believe that Teaching Assistants’ add value to their school.

244,000 Teaching Assistants’ work in schools throughout the UK.  In 2002 this figure was 71,800.

44% of parents with autistic children want more Teaching Assistants’ in UK schools.

At Profile we like to support the career development of Teaching Assistants.  We provide a range of courses and apprenticeships that are suitable for entering the profession or career development.

We were one of the first apprenticeship training providers to push the new Teaching Assistant Standard that was released back in July 2018 and we have some of the apprentices due to take their End Point Assessment in early 2020.

Through our Adult Learner Loan provision with the Student Loans Company, we offer the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (which we primarily offer as an online course so it can be done in your own time, submitting work online), the Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, which is a little bit more in depth and is for more senior roles or for more advanced learners the Level 4 Certificate for the Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges which is used to build on the success of the Level 3 course.

We also provide a range of Level 2 courses in areas that are very useful for skills development such as the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism, the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health or the Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Bullying in Children and Young People as well as many other options.  However, due to Government funding, we are still waiting on funding for these courses.
