Duration: 12 weeks – four units
This course will develop your understanding of how infection is caused and how it spreads and will provide you with an introduction to the underlying principles associated with the prevention and control of infection.
Spilt into two workbooks and four sections, areas covered include:
- Systemic and localised infection.
- How microorganisms enter and exit the body.
- Common sources of infection.
- The chain of infection.
- Healthcare-associated infections.
- Legislation and standards.
- Handling sharps.
- Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
Please note this is an online course and workbooks are for reference only.
As a fully funded course we cannot offer Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings as a paper-based course.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings.
Please note as we supply the learner with a hard copy of the course text in addition to the online course access licence, should they withdraw or be withdrawn due to a lack of submissions there is a £48 (including VAT) reimbursement cost for the book. This occurs if the learner is unable to return the book in a pristine condition.
