Over the next few years the way in which apprenticeships are delivered and assessed is changing significantly.
Profile are ready for the change and are developing our standards for delivery as they become available. We will work with our employers and learners to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible.
The employer-designed apprenticeship standards set out what an apprentice will be able to do on completion of their apprenticeship. These new apprenticeships assess an apprentice through a rigorous end -point assessment, designed by employers, which will ensure that the apprentice really can do the job they've trained for before completing their apprenticeship.
Each standard will contain the following elements:
On-programme training and learning
The key aspects include:
Gateway to end-point assessment
Towards the end of the apprenticeship, employers and providers will 'sign-off' the apprentice as being ready for end-point assessment. This End-point Assessment will be carried out by an independent assessment centre and can be carried out in several ways depending on the standards requirement. Such as an end test over several days, Interview in front of a panel of experts, demonstration or walk and talk, to name a few. The requirement for the end-point assessment will be identified at the start of the apprenticeship so the apprentice can ensure they are fully prepared before this is taken.
