Apprenticeships are changing. A new set of apprenticeship standards, called Trailblazers, has been designed by employers, for employers.
Over the next few years the way in which apprenticeships are delivered and assessed is changing significantly. For employers, this will mean that you may wish to take a role in the delivery of all or some of the standards, which in turn will affect the cost of the programme and the final outcome.
For the apprentice, the final assessment is going to change and the challenge of an end point assessment may feel daunting. Profile understands that these changes may seem overwhelming, but we are here to help you understand this transition.
Over the next year Profile will be developing our standards for delivery and will work with our employers and learners to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible.
The employer-designed apprenticeship standards set out what an apprentice will be able to do on completion of their apprenticeship. These new apprenticeships assess an apprentice through a rigorous end point assessment, designed by employers, which will ensure that the apprentice really can do the job they've trained for before completing their apprenticeship.
The funding of Trailblazers will also change and there is government guidance available here.
